Pumpkin Patch

The Vancouver monsoon season finally began on Friday, after nearly 2.5 months with NO rain. I have to admit, I am really enjoying the rain! It is cozy inside, and I love the wet sparkliness when the sun briefly shines through the clouds.

Today it was only raining intermittently, so after school I took the boys to the nearby pumpkin patch.

Their goal was to run around looking for the perfect pumpkin, to climb straw bales, and to stomp in puddles. My goal was to get at least ONE good picture of them in which they BOTH were looking at the camera AND were smiling. My success, as you will see, was somewhat mixed, but the boys' goal was definitely achieved.

Uhm, Sean, that is NOT a smile.

Ok, that's better!

My blue-eyed boy

Hi Momma, me UP!

The boys NOT looking at the camera

Mark is a good jumper! Sean wanted to try this too, but I convinced him not to yet.

Sean is so good at climbing - we seriously need to install a climbing wall at home.

Right after I took this picture, Sean jumped out and yelled "Huh-prize!" (which is Sean's version of "surprise!")

Each of the boys found the "perfect" pumpkin, and we each bought a home-baked cookie, too. This was fun!
